He can't do it alone ..and politics are ruling now and have been since the day he took office ..
I believe Obama is one of the most honest and decent man we have had in office for a long long time and I believe that he is the best possible person to be president during this horrid time ..His demeanor .. . he's calm, he's thoughtful ...not many snap decisions coming from him ..
The thing is you need like minded individuals in the house and the senate to fix things .. and he sure hasn't gotten much of that.
He really believed ( I thought he was foolish for believing btw) that due to the state of the union .. they would all join together and work to help the nation..He just didn't believe that at a time like this in our country that 'politics' would rule..
to answer your question - Can he fix it ? NO. but WE could. It would take time as the problems are deep and all parties would need to work together .. and that's just not happening ..
