Hello Chip,

I've learned to depend on stockcharts charts and data, and I'd like to believe you guys take the $GOLD data seriously.

Reasons:

Many believe that gold will be in a bull market for a good while.

I use a plot of gold the metal to help in trading the gold stocks.

Thanks

The $GOLD chart problem

We're not a commodities site, we are an equities site and our goal in providing limited commodities coverage is NOT to support commodity trading. It is to help equities traders understand the linkages between the various markets.

Irrespective of whether you support commodities or not, the closing prices for one and the same symbol should be the same, no matter what kind of chart style one is using.

Bilo's point is that the bar/candlestick chart of the symbol $GOLD showed correct closing values - but the line-style chart of the very same symbol was way off. You either support a symbol named "$GOLD" or you don't. If you don't - why are you charting it? If you do, all chart styles of this symbol should show the same closing value. This simply wasn't the case for this symbol on your site for a few days.

Anyway, it seems to have been fixed now.

Regards,
Vesselin
