To think he's a "simple" old man who vouches for the ordinary "Cuban worker" is simply absurd. The man has money. Lots of it. Whether it's millions of dollars or billions of dollars is another question.
And the man clearly has the power to transfer money "under the table". Many dictators like him have done it before. It shouldn't be any surprise IF it turned out he did the same thing.
