Maybe They Blackballed Herper From A MIT Frat
I don't know anybody who went to J-School. I'm nearby Mizzou's J-School which is one of the oldest and most renowned in the country; strange though that I don't know anybody personally who attended it.
In any case, I'd be interested to know from a recent J-School grad, or alternatively, a J-School professor what the teaching consensus is regarding journalists (and I'm assuming Herper is one) writing blogs. Clearly he has Forbes' blessing and he's not the only one writing them by far.
To me it bastardizes their product and skills, not to mention, it gives the product away for free which as we've all seen has, in part, put the print industry on life support. But that's a topic for a whole other message board.
