The jury verdict has certainly sparked a nice rally in PLUS, but I've been taken some profits at these levels. The $76M+ damages, even if upheld in phase 2 of the trial, will certainly be appealed and ulimately vastly reduced, imho. That's typically what happens in cases like this. And the appeals process can drag on for a very long time. However an out of court negotiated settlement is also a possibility. Of course, the announcement of the phase 2 jury award could spike the stock still higher. It should also be noted that Ariba has been losing money over the past year, and has seen tangible shareholders equity decline to around $9M. My guess is they ultimately settle for under $10M, or about $1 per share for PLUS. But of course it's only a guess and could be much higher. After being hammered by the ZONS disappointment, I'm taking profits in PLUS. I don't want to ride another winner back down the rollercoaster !
