Zeev, we have "known" that XDR memory and the Rambus Redwood signaling interface was compatible with Cell, and that the Sony Playstation 3 incarnation was almost certain to use them. What looks clearer now is that it is intrinsic to the design.
What remains up in the air is the business (and legal) side. Will IBM be paying any royalties? Are they looking for (or do they already have) the kind of deal Intel got, a flat fee licence, where Rambus still has to go after the peripheral manufacturers that want to supply chips that connect? As the BU$$ drives through the fog bank that obscures the future, things come into certain knowledge, then reveal twice as many questions about the future.
