The Moox prefs generally shouldn't cause problems. I'd try clearing out the cache or creating a new profile.
A problem that has been with Netscape and Gecko-based browsers is when a cache object gets partially downloaded. When the browser goes to fetch the object from cache on a subsequent visit, it can choke on the partial object and cause runaway processes, crashes and hangs.
