Haha - you clearly haven't been privy to the pm's Admin get. Our skin is pretty thick especially since we consider the source - an anonymous User on a message board.
In any event, a lot of people have asked why the suspension was so short or why he wasn't booted. Whenever we take action, we generally look at the history of the User, past dialog, etc. If it seems an anomaly then our actions aren't as swift or broad.
For example, I know this will be hard to believe, but we have a lot of people who post or pm while under the influence. Occasionally, one of these otherwise normal Users will then make some bad choices. (Not saying that was the case in this specific situation, just giving an illustration that should be easy to understand.)
I still have no idea what the guy's beef with me is or why he chose that sort of pm. But, I didn't see a history of this type of behavior and decided that he needed to understand that wouldn't be tolerated whatever the reason. Hopefully, he will understand that and there will be no further instances of this nature. If there is, publicly or privately, then the sanctions will be much less lenient.
