Yousef:

Re: "You responded that AMD would not be converting to 0.09u at Dresden, and that all 0.09u production would be at UMC."

Please provide the link for this one ...

OK. Here it is.

In that post, you said:

"Is AMD really going to bring up 90nm internally (Dresden) ?? This will require "new" lithography (193nm) which includes a new scanner and photoresists. Also, AMD could be only bringing up this technology at UMC. This is a distinct disadvantage over INTC which will do this internally. Can anyone offer "hype-free" information on AMD's plans at 90nm ??!!"

So, you see, your initial argument was that AMD would bring up 0.09u at UMC since they did not have the necessary scanners. I provided a link for you that showed that AMD does in fact have the equipment, and I still maintain that 0.09u will be brought up at Dresden and that UMC will only be used if additional capacity is needed. Was that clear enough, or should I "type slower"?

UMC is also slipping out their 90nm efforts ... What do you think this will mean to AMD. Just "think real hard", you can come up with the right answer, maybe. <ggg>

I did think real hard, and I concluded that if AMD can execute on 0.09u, then UMC's troubles will be immaterial to AMD.
