A couple of unmentioned (TV talking heads) items from the morning -

The pro-taliban faction gained a good bit of ground in the Pakistan elections - not good.

The August retail sales were revised downwards - what a shock that they were reported too high. "Give 'em the pro-forma numbers and we'll revise it down the next few times."

The ECRI numbers were down sharply.
