I think that the multiple posts happen if you hit your "back" button to edit a post instead of the "edit msg" function.

If I am wrong, I am sure I will be promptly corrected.

Depends on whether you use the Edit link or the Back button. At least, it *shouldn't* result in multiple posts if you use the Edit link.
