Seeeeee- it's very cool. I had a bit of convincing to do with my wife - as her sister is in Miami and she wanted to move to Boca Raton or Fort Lauderdale - But we went last year - my third time - her second - and we looked at some homes, etc. It got easier to imagine:)
Then it's only a couple of hour boat ride from the Bahamas to Bayside in Miami - and what a fun trip - have made it by boat a few times. So that's where were leaning at the momement.
Robin - Tsunamis are pretty rare - and as for hurricanes - you have to be willing to take come risks to live in the sunshine and by the sea....
