I never told the guy he had to buy anything and made it clear to him that it was his decision and I am not a licensed stock advisor.

He didn't lose it unless he sold, and if he did, it's his own damn fault. People like that shouldn't have 50k to play with anyhow.

You are right by saying, "what holds up in court" but I can tell you that the silly cases, hardly take that long, and if they do..the person suing ends up losing alot more when the process is over.....especially if he is a Lawyer....he will lose alot more than money trying to sue you with this....Major credibility will be lost...File a frivolous lawsuit back at him....make him sweat and have to re-count each action leading up to before the purchase...It will be thrown out shortly after that, and most likely be made to pay attorneys fees on your part...counter Every lawsuit back at him and make sure he is accountable for his own actions in front of the judge and you will be golden.....dont let a schmuck terrorize you, nor make you think doom is coming from this....

I think the judge would laugh him(lawyer guy) out of court if he brought something like that in front of him. Also it would take awhile to even hear something like that in the first place and Im sure we would have at least one good squeeze by that time. IMHO
