Speaking of bowling, yrs ago, I was a member of the Elks Club and bowled on Tuesday nights followed by many games of Snooker. We had a guy on our team, a 65 yr. old going on 25 who was from Scotland. Still had the thick brogue even though he'd be in the states for 35 yrs. Well, he stood about 6'5" and weighed about 270. When he threw the ball down the lane, most of the time, it missed the hardwood all together but it was an absolute EXPLOSION when the 16 pounder hit those pins. About twice a game, the pins would fly into the other lane and myself being the "young guy" had to go shag them from the other lane/gutter. He was the best bowler on the our team, carring a 205 average, and quite common for him to string 6 or 7 strikes in a row.
He also introduced me to the game of Snooker. Ah, now there's a billiard game for ya!
