What is so sacred about the existing Iraqi government? A purely artifically created state that is neither drawn along ethnic line nor religious line; a government that was installed by sheer violence, and stays in power by the exercise of violent intimidation. Does the sovereignty of Iraq, if there is such a thing (national self-determination principle would dictate Hashmite, Kurd, Sunni and Shiite self-determination, not Iraqi self-determination), belong to the people of Iraq or the mafia government that is currently hold every Iraqi hostage?
