Arizona Immigration Law Appeal Set For November
Arizona (Reuters) - A U.S. court denied a request for an expedited hearing on Friday and instead set a November date for Arizona's appeal to a federal court ruling that blocked key parts of a state law cracking down on illegal immigration.
Lawyers for Arizona and Governor Jan Brewer had asked the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco on Thursday to lift an injunction blocking the most intrusive parts of the law, known as SB 1070, asking for the appeal to be handled quickly.
But the court denied the state's request to expedite the appeal and set a hearing for the week of November 1.
Oh yes, another setback for the PAPERS PLEASE crowd. Not only they failed to get their racist provisions into the law they also have had their wishes for a quick appeal STRUCK DOWN by the courts.
If you are keeping score Gov. Jan Brewer and her Tea Bagger army are 0 for 2.
There is also finally a date for when this will happen, the week of November 1st, which is the same week the midterms are being held, to some people this might make it more likely for the republican base to turn out, that would be a fair assessment.
But if you believe Hispanics will just sit and take it you are wrong, brown people are fighters and they will also come out in droves to defend their brothers and sisters against the evil being perpetrated against them.
America was and continues to be built by immigrants, from blacks who suffered one of the worst faiths known to man, slavery, to chinese, italian, irish, jewish, hispanic... and the list goes on.
My people, black people, found a way to free itself of the chains of hate and despair by peaceful means, even when they were spat on or trampled on, some of them even loosing their own life, and embraced the final prize liberty with every ounce of their souls,.
That is the same faith our brown brothers and sisters deserve TODAY, they cant wait anymore and neither should us.
Don't be fooled by the media this is NOT an IMMIGRATION issue, this is a CIVIL RIGHTS issue.
This issue is no different than the CIVIL RIGHTS struggle our gay brothers and sisters have been on for decades, they also need our help in seeing their dream become a reality.
And I urge President Obama to help AMERICA WIN this struggles because it's AMERICA who LOSES when the forces of INJUSTICE and INTOLERANCE have their way.
Lets not be fooled, FREEDOM AINT FREE you have to FIGHT FOR IT.

Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, who signed the law and appealed a ruling blocking its most controversial sections, said Friday she would consider changes to "tweak" the law to respond to the parts U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton faulted.
ROFLMAO. Now she realizes the law is not constitutional? Oh not really, check how she defends this "CHANGES"
"Basically we believe (the law) is constitutional but she obviously pointed out faults that can possibly be fixed, and that's what we would do," Brewer told The Associated Press. She said she's talking to legislative leaders about the possibility of a special session, but said no specific changes had been identified.
Basically She wants to turn a pile of crap into filet mignon. Governor Brewer is clearly delusional. She should leave la la land and come back to the real world.

Not only that, she is getting bad vibes from both Democrat and Republican legislators, the former have NO REASON to help her and the latter dont want to WEAKEN the law.
Democrats scoffed at Brewer's desire to change the law, with a key House minority leader calling it laughable.
"Why would we help her?" asked Rep. Kyrsten Sinema of Phoenix. "This bill is so flawed and clearly a federal judge agrees."
House Speaker Kirk Adams said there would be little support among fellow Republicans to weaken the law

You said to me today that the people who call people racists are the real racists (which is pretty ignorant to claim anyways) ..I never brought up race with you when the conversation started. I was posting about taxes, and the war on the middle class. As well as the unpatriotic stance of the GOP in a time of war. You however, brought up race and played the race card with me, and I responded. Maybe you just wanted to cover up your defense of destroying middle-class America even further, just to confuse the issue (I can understand why). Still, you have no defense for your immoral stance of supporting the Red Chinese economy over the American economy. Doesn't matter to me what you claim to be. The results of your actions speak even louder than your words. So why are you so obsessed with race?
