Q Television Network's Programs Now Available for Syndication; Live Show Will Begin Airing in January 2005
PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Dec 20, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Q Television Network, (Pink Sheets: QBID) announced today that it will make some of its signature programming available for syndication. This will raise awareness of the network and help to expand carriage across the country.
"Syndication will also create a new profit center for Q Television," stated Frank Olsen, President and CEO of Q Television Network. "We hope if they get a taste of the candy they will want the whole candy bar," said Olsen. "Some people are afraid of gay television because they don't know what it is. This is our way of giving potential 24/7 subscribers a sample."
"On Q Live" will be aired in the Seattle area in January on a digital cable station carried on Comcast Cable which currently has over 400,000 subscribers. "On Q Live," is a 2 1/2 hour live, interactive prime time news and entertainment talk show with three hosts and seven correspondents throughout the country. Viewers can participate in discussions on various topics important to the Gay and Lesbian community via email or webcam.
Other shows being made available for syndication are "Q on the Move," "Women on Women" and "In Foqus." "Q on the Move" is a weekly, one-hour show which spotlights the gay life, culture and businesses in different cities. Seattle and Washington DC have already been featured on the show with Atlanta to follow. "Women on Women" (WOW!) is a women's talk show covering subjects of interest to all women - straight, bisexual and lesbian. "In Foqus" is a bi-weekly biography series featuring celebrities, gay icons and gay topics. The first two shows were on the Gay Games and there is currently one in production honoring Elizabeth Taylor.
"We want to make sure that Q Television becomes the Gay network of choice," added Olsen.
