Can we all take sleeping pills and wake up on 10/22? or will some of us be looking for the Kool Aid prior to 10/22? These next two weeks can be messy. Futures up a bit. Bush didnt spook market. Very low key and reasonable tone to it. I wont talk politics on this thread re: issues involved but he certainly sounded presidential. No Get em dead or alive rhetoric. marv

Alan Newman -- one of the few forecasters that has outperformed your turnips during this bear -- is looking for another 5-10% down followed by a decent bear market rally. But he expects the rally to fade by year-end with another hard drop in January.

Newman argues that even a cyclical bull market is very unlikely until the still overwhelming LONG TERM optimism on Wall Street and Main Street goes the way of the dodo.

zeev, dont you think we are approaching a bottom similar to the nassacre false bottom on July 24; you said last week that alot of your turnips are still very positive; do 3 gnt on the nyse in the last week and only 100 new lows from the naz bottom, with 11 or 12 more trading days to a turn change your turnips forecast? Rick
