I don't suppose it's compelling, but I happened to see part of the New York Giants football game this afternoon and was struck by the lack of commercials. During the time I watched, there was a change of possession and another stoppage of play during which the station did not run ONE, SINGLE commercial.

Anecdotally, the lack of commercials suggests business is so good that marketing departments are on idle or so bad that marketing departments are on idle. Gee. I wonder which it could be?

S'Help me, if this is the start of a trend, I might even go back to watching football.
