The Pebble Project, a joint venture between Northern Dynasty Minerals and mining industry giant AngloGold seeks to construct and operate an open pit and underground mine in an area considered one of the richest for porphyry gold, copper and molybdenum in the world. Further development of a port on the Cook Inlet, nearby roads, and suitable energy sources are already in process with the approval of the State of Alaska and the Federal Government.
