I don't think you can write off expenses for stock investments unless you can claim you do it full time, but even then I don't think so.

I'm making a habit of touring and visiting companies much more. I find it provides quite an advantage as it allows me to get an idea of capacity expansion and the culture of the work environment. I stopped by AMLJ previously, but I haven't taken a tour yet. Headquarters from my looking through the bulletproof (I think) glass was that the place was humble in the lobby but sci-fi terminator 5 futuristic high-tech WTF am I looking at on the operations side. I look forward to taking a tour in the near future. Should be fun!
