#1266 RE: Elmer Phud #1262

Hi Elmer,

My response is not intended to be confrontational. Just want to state the facts. iHub is a business enterprise. According to the rules of iHub, I can only remove from view posts which violate the site's TOU's. Nothing more, nothing less. I was trying to do my best to do that. It appears that I did not "exceed expectations" of the thread. I cannot change iHub's TOU's. Actually, I am pretty impotent (man, I will delete any post that makes fun of that statement - VBG). If you think your post was deleted in error, you can go to Matt (info. in the iBox/thread header). I would really like for someone else to take on this job, since it appears my judgement offends the majority. I will not screw up this thread for my own selfish motives.

Elmer, I agree with your proposal. Those are common sense rules that can apply for the most basic of conduct. Nobody interested in civil discussion should object to those, as they are quite reasonable. It establishes a line that is not to be crossed, and gives a lot of leeway before that line is reached. You are correct about the "filter" feature being a useful tool to ignore people that do not cross the line, but get close enough to be an annoyance. If more people agree to these terms, I think they should be posted as official rules for the forum, and moderation should avoid confrontation unless these rules are breeched.
