Are they worried about the efficiencies for TV's and monitors? Cost seems to be the bigger consideration. A 30" LCD TV uses 16 bulbs, is complicated to build and the results are only "acceptable". One bulb burning out turns it into a very expensive paperweight. At 50% of the cost the BLU is the most expensive part, equaling the cost of all the other components. CNT is cheaper and easier to make and doesn't even have to be prefect (actually can have fairly large defects like whole lines) to give a better result than CCFL in a BLU.

Without researching it further, it appears OLED's longevity problems, the brighter they are the shorter they last (doesn't plasma have that problem too?) will never really get off the ground before something cheaper and better comes along. CNT appears to have the ease of OLED production without the longevity problem.
