Electronic Arts third-quarter profit declines

LOS ANGELES, Jan 25 (Reuters) - Top video game publisher Electronic Arts Inc. (ERTS.O: Quote, Profile, Research) posted a smaller profit for its fiscal third quarter on Tuesday as it faced heavy competition in the period from a slate of blockbuster new titles.
Redwood City, California-based EA reported a net profit of $375 million, or $1.18 per share, compared with a year-earlier profit of $392.3 million, or $1.26 per share. Revenue fell to $1.43 billion from $1.48 billion a year ago.
