Mlsoft- I think its more a function of the large short position and the fact that they got a one two punch here today.. A simple equation of too many people betting on one direction, and that spells a recipe for sharp movement.
I agree with you on the DELL news as to how it pretains to the industry, but certainly dont think the optomism is overdone.. It simply caught alot of folks off guard, and that can feed on itself..
While that is good for DELL, it is bad news for its competitors
HPQ and IBM got toasted if Dell's revunues are correct. Intel also suspect since they kick back so much money for selling Intel processors. I don't know in previous occurances where Dell has surprised on upside that has carried over to Intel.
