PEANUTS, COMPARED TO THE POTENTIAL REWARD.

company says they have spent many years and many millions so far?

what on earth makes you think they wont continue?

and btw when it comes to equipment and modifications, and the time to implement them, you don't suppose a little grease and some cash would not speed that up?

it is just a drilling rig, not a space shuttle

The new rig ordered is in compliance with the Australian code and the previous rig illegally sold was in compliance as it has already been used to drill in Australia. To even suggest that these rigs are not able to do the job is pure misinformation and leads me to believe you don't know anything about the qualified drill master in the employ of GSLM. They don't just pick a rig out of a calalog and order it. A lot of planning goes into these orders and all of the rules and regulations are closely monitored. That's enough misinformation. It would however, appear that the hunt rig was not equipped to do winter drilling and had to be modified.

Oh Ok.

You keep talking about the requirement for the electrical system being in compliance...

So, are you saying...well, do we have to get a portable "Australian" generator and plug the "American" Gefco 1100 into it?
Or, maybe you're talking about...well, having Tasman Electric run poles to wire up Bellvue with some Australian Alternating Current and then plugging into that with the correct transformer?

Geez, I don't know...maybe we could just use an adapter...
Or, what? Is it something like that?

Maybe our rig needs a better on/off switch and a closer light switch to the drilling platform in case the BOP fails. That way the guys don't have to run to far when the rig is flooded w/ hydrates...

Yea, I guess you right.
Boy, doesn't that sound familiar...
God forbid we hire someone like Transocean, eh?
