I don't have proof that the water in Death Valley Junction is full of heavy metals and contaminates .. I have not been able to locate testing results from Death Valley Junction..
I was under the impression that groundwater and surface water in arid regions tend to have higher concentrations of organic and inorganic impurities due to evaporation. I also believe it to be fact that areas that have been mined in the past also have increased levels of contaminates in the water due to mining activities.
There is an abundance of information regarding arsenic levels and heavy metals in the California water supply.
I was thinking last night about the basic requirements to grow algae. Sun Light, temperature, water, C02.. Since DVJ has an abundance of sunlight, fairly static temperatures, and a water source .. I thought I'd look into it ..
I remember Dennis saying something about not using C02 from factories or coal burning plants to grow algae for Pharmaceutical and Nutritional use because of the contaminates from the process.
I recalled reading about using algae to clean water supplies and the benefits of algae in metal ion absorption. So I was looking for data that explained if heavy metals in the water would infact pass into the lipids after entering the cell wall.
I looking into Martek and how they produce their Algae for Lifes DHA products. They specifically mention use of filtered, sterilized water being used in their fermentation tanks.
I would think BEHL would have to filter the impurities out of the water as well as sterilize it before they could grow Algae intended to be harvested and used for Omega-3 purposes..
I do not recall there being any conversations regarding the filtering of water for use within the PBR.
You stated that you have in your hand a document that shows Zero contamination or heavy metals in the water at DVJ .. I can not find that information ..
I am curious if BEHL has grow algae in their lab with water from the site. I'm sure algae grows great in lab water .. I'm curious to hear about results using site water. I know you don't have an answer to that .. I don't expect you to ..
That was my train of thought..
