You can't replicate the problem? And it IS the iPhone 4?
I find that hard to believe since the issues of this coming up ARE a hardware issue. There's no way the issue in the above video is a software issue. I work with software and hardware, I know what can and can't be fixed by a software update.
There's also the issue of fragility upon shipping where users have said they dropped their phone from just a foot up and the glass shatters.
Here are several user reviews on Gizmodo showing the same problem. I don't think this isn't just an isolated issue. However, it can be fixed by buying a rubber case for it.
Then there's the issue of the poor customer service at least one man received when he called complaining about it.
Their answer? "Get a bumper" and "it's not their problem".
I told the CSR that if their solution is to buy a bumper, why aren't they giving them out for free? Again, she said not her problem.
Quite an infuriating call - while I sympathize with the verbal beat-down that many of the Apple CSRs will be getting over this problem, they need a better solution than to recommend fixing the problem with their own rubber cases...
