It's the potential for fundamental improvement in the mid-year timeframe, as opposed to the potential for mid-year announcements that would speculatively (at the time of announcement) bring *future* fundamental improvement.
BTW, saying there is a "cyclical pattern" to the stock price that will recur this year is even more speculative.
