"most companies have features for about 30 dollars or less a month to have unlimited web and email."

Please tell me where this is and I will jump right on this. I pay 60 per month for 2 phones and all I get is 750 shared minutes, no texting or web and this is with Verizon. It is an older plan, to get anything else is even more expensive. This is with 15% company discount from my employer. This is the reason I will be changing to a non contract phone as it is the cheapest I can get, but I will need to pay full price for a phone. At full price, you can bet I won't be purchasing a smart phone.

BTW, Verizon is the only carrier that gets decent reception in my area, so I have to take that into consideration as many others do also.

So what does this mean??

You are not interested that is OK!

But many 40 plus people are not geeks like yourself!

We just use the basic phone!

And even with newer phones I have little use looking up things!

You could do that on a computer then at home as well!

I what easy things to see and do!

And yes it may be OK for you!

But if I want to talk to someone quickly, the only word I need to text is what or which company I want!

I can't say I completely disagree with you 'justlookin', but, for me, the service makes sense.

I'm a businessman, I have a blackberry, I do use all its features and routinely access more info than Go800 provides. But.......I live in Canada (Calgary to be exact ID), and maybe what you don't know (but you could confirm) is that 'smart' phone plans up here can easily run you three to four times what you'd pay in the U.S. for the same service/usage. It's called lack of competition on account of foreign ownership restrictions (we only really have two or three service providers). I can afford to use the full gamut (it costs me a couple hundred $+ a month and the cost/benefit works for me), but many folks up here can't and opt to use 'text' and e-mail options instead (even if they own a 'smart' phone as 'data' usage is cost prohibitive).

As I've said before, I think people will be surprised at how well this will be received in Canada and how BIG a market it is (and again...MANY succesful U.S. brands and franchises test-marketed and substantiated themselves up here and then were rolled out down there because we are an easier market to penetrate and confirm or perfect a business model).

Really, I think the preponderance of Canadians espousing the virtues of Go800 and investing in the stock (despite not being able to test the service yet) is because we NEED and will USE this type of service. I know I will, even though I have the capability and can afford to do as you do with your Iphone, Blackberry, or whatever...if I'm in traffic downtown and want/need to get in touch with a business that I have NOT programmed into my phone, nothing could be easier or simpler than texting a keyword I can readily remember and then having my phone ring with a live voice!

Maybe some other 'third-world' countries will take to this too.

But GO800 isn`t finished yet!!!Who knows with what apps they will come up with to provide info that can also be found on the web or in the phonebook?

The service GO800 is providing now is just a start, and a good one!!! As GOIP has pointed out, a lot of phases yet to come....
