Democrats have a big tent in their party, what you didn't say is that 98% of the GOP is white, and the other 2% wishes that they were (half joking). They believe that they have a sense of entitlement, and should have built-in advantages over others, especially economically. Why wouldn't almost every black person want the first black President elected, considering the history of this country, and their people in it. It's a sense of accomplishment, a burden lifted off a people that knew manyhardships in this Country, for hundreds of years; and your failure to understand that means that you don't understand what you think that you understand, but rather what you want to understand.
