I must confess, I haven't been following gold closely recently, Steve, but glancing at the Gold COTs for 1/11, it looks like the commercials are almost twice as heavily short as they are long (non-comm. and non-report. are nearly three times more long than short). So what does that tell you? "Smart Money" is short gold.
