Not the same. BP was not trying to mislead investors for financial gain. They were misleading the public to save their ass. They're being sued by 1000s of people already and no doubt various government agencies will be after them as well.

how much money does BP spend every year lobbying and paying for judges, senetors, congressman, and even the president to get elected you think the GOP or the DEM's are going to do anything to there cash cow, they are protected.

also shorting was one red flag , another was how much ACT was being pumped in news letters and emails just like 3 years ago SEC is crack down HARD on that kind of pumping. they want to hurt the pumpers so they stop doing that. they have done it in the past, go back and read about it. also on sec page it say majoraity of there information on weather to investigate a company comes from common people/investors. so if they have a certian # of complaints then they take action. SO basically if we get 50 people to call in and say XXXX company was a scam and shady, if you were working at the SEC wouldnt you say maybe we should check up on this , because 50 people called saying something is wrong ( example)

even if it was pumped so much doesnt mean it was a bad company that did things wrong.

everyone says that the SEC contacted them before hand and they are lying that they didnt. how can u be sure they did. where does it say that the sec will contact them before hand to get information

from my understanding they dont let anyone know they are investigating until they suspended trade. the reason so the company doesnt destory docs and such.

SAY it was a scam company the sec asks can u prove this or this what do u think they will do...... destory everything and get the hell out of dodge. so when they say they didnt get contacted I'm willing to beleive them 75%

just for the fact that they have been so good ( extremely good) at getting back to average investors like me and everyone and talking to us until we are satisfied and they did this even before the suspenion, because before i invested in the company I did talk to ares for over an hour to learn what the company is doing and where they are going. again this was before the suspenion so it's hard to beleive if they got a call or a request from the SEC they wouldnt reply back and then lie about it.

if someone out there finds somethng that say they do give them a chance before hand to prove there claims and post it here. then I will beleive it .

because I will only beleive things I've seen myself
what you say makes sense and should be common sense they should ask for information before supending trade. but you also have to understand its a goverment agency, common sense .... government... come on who here thinks those two go together. unless its written down and posted somewhere on there site, ( which i've looked for alot but I havent found ) its hard to beleive it.

Good point.

You should write a letter to SEC asking them to
explain why the small fish are caught while the
big sharks are allowed to roam free.

Of course you will not get a reply because nobody
wants to open a can of worms. Such is the sad state
of politics today.

Money talks!! BP is so huge that is why they wont suspend their trading, to investigate and see if they are misleading their investors, !! Its not right by any means but that is why big companies like BP just get away with everytihng and as you see now with the oil spill, workers lost their lives because of BP, enivronment ruined, people losing jobs, losing family own businesses , sea life dying, etc, but thats ok because BP pr's must be telling the truth !! What .....!!!!!
