To the company, it doesn't matter. They will pay out to the 75B shares that exist. The brokers and MM;s will have to make everyone and every share whole. Meaning, they will have to either buy those shares to reduce the short position, or they will need to pay out the dividend to all of them. Real or phanthom. That simple.
