Sorry to hear that, but WHO pulled the trigger? With all due respect, only the lame and weak blame others for their own inadequacies. Due diligence, ALWAYS.

I was able to lose $1000 bucks in just a couple hours.

Hey, you must have bought early. I, OTOH - exercising patience, restraint and superior trading prowess managed to lose my thousand in less than one hour. <vbg>

The other 5 are doing OK though, right?

I bought IBM at $62,.. 500 shares set a stop loss at $60 and that filled

I sold 5 OCT 60 PUTs early in day and got $2.4. I sold another 5 PUTS later and got $3.10. Even later in the day, sold 10 Calls OCT 60 for $3.50.

I may not have a 100% guarantee about making a positive return if IBM stays between $54 and $66 on Oct 19, but as least I wouldn't be second guessing my trades today until it hits $54 or $66 <g>

hi realist .....
just wondering ......

are you correlating TA with Zeev's recommendations ??
Zeev TENDS to be abit early on his ( intermediate??) calls ........

the qualifier ....
Zeev is BANG ON in his intraday calls ........
and he's right the majority of the time ....
and i'm just a newbie at this game ...... :-)

IBM's TA looks kinda poopy ......
maybe one more down day .....
having said that ..... it'll probably gap up tomorrow ... :-)

also Zeev did mention to use " mental" stops .....
but lookin at the chart ..... i dont think it wouldve made a difference today ......

careful ....
its a crazy mkt out there ....

good luck .....

In edit, I have to go on a conf call in few minutes, so I took first blood here on CCMP at $40.25, think it may continue a little higher, but $2.80 profits, I don't like to leave on the table.

I take it you bought all six, not just IBM (the one I stated is the most dangerous...). If you did, you should still be in the ball game riding five horses and ready to get back in IBM about $2 above my expected low for the year (On 5/11 I suggested IBM may reach $55 this year) at let say $56.5 with a stop at $54.80). Or, replace it with MRK if it gets to the $41/3 area.

As for the rest of them, I suggested that I'll use the openin prices for the "record and here they are:
IBM-$61.08, stopped at $60 loss of 1.8%.
AA-$19.35 (SL $17.55), sell above $25.
EK $26.80 (SL $24.90),
MMM $116 (SL $108.25)
XOM $32.50 (SL $29.90)
MSFT $44.75 (SL $41.90)

In the aftermarket last night, I apparently got some MU at $12.10 ( I was out and that was the only order that filled from quite a number of OB I had there) a very nice discount of 10% from last sell..

The realist, were you consistent buying back 530 shares of IBM (to replace the 500 sold for a loss of $1000) at $56.5? Are you going to go back into IBM to make back this $1000? If you did, you would actually be 5.8% ahead of the game already... (g).
