Most know I worked for Wal-Mart, Sam's Club for 17 years, and many times we had outside contractors come in too perform tasks, like changing out the steel, painting the ceilings, and many various resurfacing work on parking lots, along with so many other tasks. I use to ask why do we have contractors who hire Mexicans to do the work, and was politely informed to stay quiet. Mexicans work much cheaper than the American counter-part, most work for whatever hours we give them, they do not get overtime, or benefits, when they get sick or hurt, we send them on their way and bring in other Mexicans.

I watched this with cleaning crews, painters, and almost every other remodeling job that was performed on a Wal-Mart Supercenter, or Sam's Club outlet. When it came to breaks, and lunch, I was agained reminded that it was none of my business. Once ot twice I did go up the ladder to District Officers that I knew and trusted for years, and again I was told to stay quiet about it. Eventually Wal-Mart was caught in some states, they disbanded the crews, paid a fine and within a few months another crew of Mexicans were right back at it.

Americans will perform the job, they just require minium wage and all of the perks that an American job guarantees, like the right to be treated fairly. Even Wal-Mart knows a good thing when they see it, pay some outside contractor, and do not ask too many questions about the workers.

So who's fault is it? Me? Contactor? Government? Economy? Greed? Profits? Lower wage for Mexicans than Americans?

Yes.

Seriously though YOU shouldn't have to be the last line of defense or have to worry about being responsible. Immigrants are brought here to fill the needs of a growing economy. Our FEDERAL government has the responsibility for moderating the flow of immigration to meet our economic needs and protect our culture and national security. They neglect this job by allowing countless millions through illegally because collectively we all enjoy the benefits of cheap labor on one hand TODAY while we run up liabilities tomorrow for the consequences of importing poverty.

Make no mistake. Millions of workers at below poverty levels in a stagnant to deteriorating economy are an enormous, unplanned burden. Just like every other aspect of our economy we "planned" for endless economic growth that would have easily absorbed this burden. Now it seems like a BIG deal because jobs are scarce and the green shoots of recovery are wilting over and drying up for dead.

I'm done with this. I apologize to everyone for using this forum to spout my own personal politics.
