MLM I like you analogy somewhat. I don't believe its a race. How about a package delivery?
When you shipped the package, I promised to have it delivered for you within a week. I then encountered a flat tire which I definitely did not expect, but I was somewhat prepared and was able to change the tire and move on.
I then encountered a detour that did not show up on the map I was using. Not to fear, I rely on the experts who rerouted the traffic to get me around the construction. During this detour, I find myself somewhat lost as it appears a detour sign has been taken. Not to fear, I buy a GPS and again rely on the experts who made the devise and maps to point me in the right direction. Yes, they finally get me back on route. I'll be damned, but a couple days later, I encounter more car trouble. It appears there is a transmission problem. The engine is going full throttle, but I am not moving forward as fast as before. Not to fear, I look for help, the wrecker service takes me to someone who can fix the problem within a day or two. Two days go past and they say they have not received the part they need so I wait a bit longer. Another couple days go past without getting any closer to my destination. Finally, I am again back on the road. I stop for a bite to eat at a reputable restaurant, who would have thought, I get sick from the food. Another couple days go past, yet no closer to delivering the package I promised would be there within a week.
By now I hope you get my point. The package will not be delivered within a week as promised.
I had a plan, something happened, plan changed, had to rely on others, plan changed again, etc. etc.
I KNOW THE PACKAGE WILL GET DELIVERED EVENTUALLY,
What I don't know is what's in the package. Maybe its food that spoiled or maybe a seed that turned into a beautiful flower.
