I no longer have hard and fast rules on trending positions, but I tend to look at the Bull-Bear indicator to determine long or short bias.

Currently that indicator is modestly Bearish. A 1% up day will probably keep it in Bear. 2% will likely push it over into Bull.

The scalp is at -3.7%, my port is at -4.1% YTD. NDX is at -4.2% YTD. Nothing to get exited about in those numbers.
