this article is too close to after the event.
Flocco is conjecturing about matters that even the public media has reported on, such as stating it is has been concluded the Al Queda/Osama Bin Laden profited in the area of 100million dollars via put transactions on both airlines and insurance companies, and was done just before 9/11.
The puts transactions were closed via electronic trading on 9/11 and the money then started moving electronically through switch after switch after switch to it's ultimate destination.
The original purchase of the puts were also done via a complex switching such that when purchase was made it was already distant from the initiating source of the purchase.
There was a statement that they would track this down but later it came out that the electronic swichings were so complex they lost the money trail.
Also i read in the Times that the U.S. Government managed to freeze only 10million dollars of Al Queda money and that Al Queda now has a complex courier money movement.
Regards monitoring unusual options trading it is my understanding this has been done for years and is legal.
This is all i know, and this was public knowledge; i am sure there has been more reporting and articles reported well after 2002.
Love to see some "digs" on this dating after 2002.
Were those unusual imbalanced options positions known before 9/11? A computer knew that is for sure as it records such supicious transactions automatically, question is when did this information pass to humam eyes that actually said, hey what is this about!!!!
Knowing how bureaucracy is inherently incompetent i doubt anyone connected the dots until after the event.Max
p.s. as i see some people trying and trying to "burn someone at the stake" FOR 9/11 NOT being stopped in advance but all we are really are uncovering is bureaucracy failed pathetically, but not anyone individual.
Hell, after the fact, we know Pearl Harbor surprise attack had it's own bureaucratic chain of command failure.
As Armitage said, it's like the standard is being set that if you stop 99 developing attacks but fail on one, you are a failure.
