Look I am happy for you and your grandson sir. The only thing is that I am a SSG currently deployed to Iraq as well. This is my 3rd deployment and each time it has been difficult. Even though its tough and I have seen shit that I wouldnt wish for any other man to see, it is getting safer and much better over here as far as security and ISF (Iraqi Security Forces) goes. There is no "body clean up details" there is no unit in the entire theater of Iraq that is being attacked "3 times a day". If you were to say that in 2003/2004 then yes I would agree because I was here. But today is different. We are handing the country over to the Iraqis and honestly they have been needing out help less and less which is a great sign. I am not saying that your grandson is lying. Im just saying that its no longer like that bad over here. I wish you the best of luck sir and God Speed to your grandson until he returns home safe.
