That may have been someone else. I have 8+ years of summation data built in the the mvp spreadsheet. I also keep track of the amex summation as well.
I use data from the summations to help crosscheck-evaluate-approve buy and sell decisions from my program. You can't go totally by fixed number targets on $nasi $nysi so much as you can look at their respective macds and extremes thereof in the past. I also crosscheck with vix releative 200 day lookback level.
No system or nmethod will ever get perfect bottoms and/or tops, but I've found combining several indicators that are not totally looking at the same thing has been a great help.
