What would you do if you were in power?

Seems like only two choices. Either we regulate our prices down to theirs or get them to free up their prices.

Regulating ours seems easy enough. As to the second choice, why would they volunteer to raise their prices?

Zeev, that to me is the biggest issue in all this drug cost discussion. The US is subsidizing the drug cost for the European and Canadian consumer. For some reason the media and politicians (regardless of party) do not even address this aspect. ..The power of lobby or ignorance of current main street press?

I assume we are talking about drugs that are under the protection of patents. In this case the owners of the patents (US companies) can dictate the terms (the prices of the drugs or the license fees). I cannot imagine that they lose money on such deals.
