This is where GOIG could fast track some marketing and branding goals by partnering with some big name companies that already have household names out there.
We have all heard the arguments about the catch 22 scenario. "Need to see if the service is successful before we advertise" but "Can't see if the service is successful if no one knows about it so we have to advertise".
Big companies will take a service such as this, do some tightly focused advertising in order to test out the service and let the data speak for itself. If it is successful, they will broaden both their advertising and service usage, looking for confirmation of value along the way. None of them will jump in with both feet on faith.
Soooooo.....If a big company is testing this service....we should have seen SOME advertising somewhere even if just in local rag. At this point, I don't think any big companies have reached the point of actually testing the service. I do think, however, that there may be several in negotiations with GOIG to begin testing it.
I am hopeful sometime before June 1, they will make such an announcement.
