backinthegame your are correct and

IMO this will be bigger than we realize. You picked up on the important parts of the Press Releases so you see where this is going. Good for you !

If you can sit back and digest this without emotion (hard to do I know given the poorly crafted PRs, overly optimistic funding deadline forecasts, etc.)this is very intriguing and very positive news.
You have to understand how UN and government contracts in general work.
Several points:
- UN and $$: The UN does not care about costs. They make Nigeria look like an amateurs when it comes to wasting money and corruption. The inmates are in charge of the asylum at that nest of snakes. The third world is in charge along with the third world mentality of pay offs, contracting by friendship, etc. is in full force despite the cover of Western rules and regulations.
- UN Contracting: A nightmare of bureaucracy unmatched by even the State Department or ancient Byzantium. Go to their web site and try to register as a potential contractor. If you get it completed in two hours you are doing well. Good luck in getting noticed. For example, I registered my company and 3 years later got an email asking for clarification as to my capabilities before they could accept the application.
- Dont Buy American UN Attitude: An American company is a disadvantage in getting UN business (possible exception of some NGO,non-governmental organizations, originating in the US but staffed mostly by non-Americans. French, Belgium, Dutch, Italian, etc. are all preferable to being an American/Evil Empire member when it comes to getting a UN contract. Non-American is much more palatable to those holding the purse strings and doling out the cash. Hence the "QASP International" and the UK connection is all the more important for UN contracts and funding.
- Money: They have the bucks (most of it from US taxpayers but that is another issue!). Mines are a MAJOR issue transcending national borders and a very easy issue for all nations to get behind, support and most critically FUND.
- State Department Approval: The recent PR that spoke about State approval for parts exports or whatever (not very well written like most of the PRs easy enough to figure out: see my post from last week)is another piece that will make it easier for QASP to work abroad with mineseeker. IF/IF they get a UN contract they would still need permission to export the technology, equipment, etc. from the USG which they have or at least have a major "leg up" on getting with the helo acquisition.

All the above aside, this makes being asked to demonstrate by the UN HUGE. It means that all the various non-Western, non-democratic, anti-US (in general)factions that prevail at the place (and I had the dubious pleasure, gag, to work with some of them, in NY and abroad, over the years) are looking seriously at putting money into this. Also shows that someone has the connections to make this happen. You just don't go to a conference and BINGO you are asked to demonstrate. Has to be lots of behind the scenes, calls, arm twisting and promises of whatever.
Sound too that the Western factions like the US and UK etc. are on-board. We (the West)tend to at least try, without a whole lot of success, to keep the contracting system there honest so this lends an air of authenticity to the demonstrating invitation.

Everything I have read, especially these last two PRs, is a very positive sign and validates my DD regarding the legitimacy of the operation and their hoped-for multi-million (or billion) conglomerate someday.

CAVEAT/WARNING: There is no instant gratification for us unless we got VERY VERY lucky. This will not happen overnight. All the indicators are great but until we see contracts actually signed with $$ in the bank it wont mean a lot. Even with support getting a UN contract is not going to happen next month. QASP could for example flub the demonstration and that would probably end it. If they do well and can translate that into a contract, it would take several months to finalize best case.
Same too with the foreign government interest. They may get there, make a good impression, but then the follow up starts. Even the corrupt governments are not going to sign a contract on the first visit in all likelihood.

This is a long term investment. I fully expect this to reach a $1 easy but am not looking for it before the end of the year (IF/IF everything falls into place).

I suppose I had better add all in my opinion just in case someone thinks like popes of old I am speaking ex-cathrada!
