Stefan and Bob. Ascending Triangles.

Stefan, your presentation of the charts with the scans, in post #212, is very useful.

Here's a chart that I've created based on an example in John Murphy's book, Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets.



I think this example demonstrates just how difficult it could be to design a scan to find similar Ascending Triangles.

The triangle formed over a three month period, in Daily data.

The flat top was almost, but not exactly flat, so using an "=" sign wouldn't quite work, but using "=>" might not produce the correct results either.

Any ideas for a scan that would locate this sort of pattern?
