Remember "pre-opteron" were the Athlon days and was also pre-Zeon, pre-Itanium, and AMD Athlon was in competiton with the 80486 and the very first Pentiums which ran at a screeming 66 MHz!!! :) If memory serves, athlon captured 50% of the market for PC's used as servers. And it took Intel 3 years to catch up.

You got it. That's included in the roll up when the analysts state "server share".

More like 4-5% after they brought out their 2s chipset and MPU.
