I think that you are dead wrong, inventing is dead easy, and inventors and inventions are a dime a dozen. After spending years coming up with "solutions" and then looking for the problems these solutions can solve, I finally decided to reverse the order, now I am looking for problems (worthwhile problems), coming up with solutions is easy, see http://www.weinvent.com.
