Z, No self-respecting engineer would refer to any chemical processor as a machine, because the term machine implies the work being done is physical, not chemical.

Here's a Google search which brings up plenty of actual engineers refering to the process in proper technical terminology. Some utilize a chemical batch reactor (CBR) either in "batch mode" or with automation for a semi-continuous process; others utilize fluid bed reactors:

Looking at all the previous work done in the field would make me question weather JB's unpatented super seceret catalyst might infringe on the intellectual property from all the previous work in this field. I'm sure he's using some type of Zeolite.
