Jessme, the premise about hypertension treatment makes for some interesting speculation. The 80% figures in your reference and desertfox's reference do provide an interesting coincidental relationship, don't they? After all, ulcers have been linked to a viral cause.

From Jessme post: "For 85% to 95% of people with high blood pressure, the cause of their high blood pressure is not known. Called primary hypertension, this condition probably results from a variety of causes."
