any time......yup politicians from FDR to the present have had a penchant for heaping obligations on future generations that can never fully be paid....time honored.
What FDR passed was fully funded and you should know that. You should also know it was giving us huge surplusses. It wasn't anticipated when passed that average age that people lived went from 65 to close to 75-80. That's a big swing and since passed many new entitlements were added. So please stop the harping of social security ok. Heck if we didn't have the republican led recession we would not be in the red as many had to take early payments (which is good in the long run) and many stopped contributing because they were laid off. SS is not nearly the problem as Medicare is.
